Lillie was a wonderful person who was sweet and gentle to everyone she met. She loved to sing 'I Will Meet You in the Morning' and other old - time Christian songs. I remember that she was always dressed to the 'T' and never had a hair out of place, even if she was going to stay home all day. She was a petite lady with snow white hair and beautiful eyes. She told me ofthe time her husband came to court her, he brought her a large box of chocolates, however, she didn't know what chocolate was and had never seen it much less tasted it. She thanked him, and laughingly told me, after he left she threw 'that aweful looking brown stuff away'. She had great stories and I feel very lucky to have spent as much time with her as I did.
She was one of 9 children and also had 4 step brothers and sisters.
She was my Great Grand-mother.
