Our much loved husband and father, Victor Dixon Abibo, age 67, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 28, 2023 after a brief but valiant fight with cancer. He was born August 11, 1955 in Nigeria to Dixon and Esther (Wokoma) Abibo. Victor moved from Nigeria to Guthrie to attend Langston University. He would go on to receive his PhD and was a math professor at Langston University. It was there that he met the love of his life, Shirley Faye Barnes, and they married on March 9, 1979. Together they raised their two beautiful daughters, Victoria and Eugenia. Victor was a true and devoted child of God who's faith was always unwavering, even in the midst of struggle. He was a prayer warrior, not only for his family, but for everyone that he met. Victor had a personality that drew people in, and they instantly loved him. He was smart, loving, kind, strong-willed, strong-minded, and a gentleman. His smile, his laugh, and his devotion to his family and friends will be greatly missed. Victor was loaned to us for a short time, and we are so thankful for the time we had with him and know that we will see him again.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Shirley Abibo; his daughters, Victoria Abibo and Eugenia Abibo.

Graveside services will be 12pm Friday, July 14, 2023 at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
