Tony E. Abbonizio, 88, of Beaver Falls, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 1, 2023, at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, PA.

Born on October 23, 1934, in Beaver Falls, PA, he was the son of the late Tony Sr. and Asunta (Crognale) Abbonizio. A graduate of Beaver Falls High School, he was employed at Babcock & Wilcox from August 1953 until joining the U.S. Army in May 1954. He attended Basic Training at Fort Knox, KY, then was assigned to the 271st Engineer Battalion, and then served as an SP3-Corporal in the 42nd Engineer Battalion in Fort Richardson, Alaska from May 13, 1954 until May 10, 1956. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Expert Rifle Badge. He then returned to employment at Babcock & Wilcox until 1987. Following retirement from Babcock & Wilcox he was then employed by Rockwell International and Builders Square. From May 2000 until June of 2022, he was employed at Home Depot. He attended Christian Assembly, Christian Missionary Alliance and Pathway Church. He also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity.

Tony was a dedicated and beloved husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Orrico) Abbonizio; his daughter, Colleen Abbonizio-(Roland) McClinton; his son, Randy Abbonizio; his granddaughter, Brooke McClinton; and his sister, Mary DelTurco.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph Abbonizio and Lee Abbonizio; and one sister, Emma DeChellis.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 26th from 4pm-7pm in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp-www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com, where services will be held on Saturday, May 27th at 9am.

Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
