John "Jack" Stuart Abbottsmith, age 27, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Jack was born on April 12, 1996 in Cincinnati, Ohio, was a lifer at Summit Country Day School, and studied film and media studies at the University of Cincinnati. Beloved by his family and abundant friends, he will be remembered for his love of fun and the wind in his hair; for his gentle spirit and rare empathy that gave the immediate impression that he just understood; for his charm, his quiet thoughtfulness, and the kindness in his eyes. Nothing was more important to Jack than the people in his life, and he lived every day with courage and love. He is survived by his mother Mary Mahoney, father Charles Abbottsmith, brother Will Abbottsmith, sister Jane (William) Abbottsmith Plunkett and nephew and godson Jude. Preceded in death by his sister Sarah Abbottsmith. A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, May 25 from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home, 3183 Linwood Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45208, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00pm at St. Rose Church, 2501 Riverside Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
