HADDONFIELD – Services will be held Oct. 2 for Anne Edsall, a 71-year member of the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield and a long time borough resident who died Sept. 15 at Wallkill Valley General Hospital in Sussex County. She was 86.

Mrs. Edsall became a member of the First Baptist Church in 1920. Throughout the years she was a member of the church choir, a Sunday school teacher, past president of the women’s union, a deaconess and a church clerk. In addition, Mrs. Edsall was a longtime member of Haddon Fortnightly, a past president of Questers –- Elizabeth Haddon Division of Haddonfield -– and a member of the Haddonfield Historical Society.

She was a Red Cross volunteer during World War II, was a member of the West Jersey Hospital Auxiliary, Camden, and helped to recruit nurses for West Jersey Hospital.

Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth E. Clegg of Cherry Hill; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 2 at the First Baptist Church of Haddonfield, , 120 E. Kings Highway. Private burial was held at Hardyston Memorial Cemetery, Hamburg, Sussex, County. … (Camden, NJ, Courier-Post, Mon., 23 Sep 1991, p. 9)
