Greenville— Mrs. Maudie Roach Cantrell, 68, died at a Simpsonville hospital yesterday at 9:30 a.m. after a period of declining health.

She was a daughter of the late Price and Mary Ann Heaton Roach, and was a native of Spartanburg County. Most of her life was spent in Greenville County, and for 13 years she had lived on Laurens Road, Route 6, Greenville.

Mrs. Cantrell was a member of Laurens Road Baptist Church, the Lady's Bible Class and formerly taught a children's Sunday School Class.

Her husband, Ulus she G. Cantrell Sr., died in 1960.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Allen Roberts of Route 1 Simpsonville; a son, UG Cantrell of Route 6 Greenville; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Lee Jones of Pelham and Mrs. Alta Craine of Greenville, and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Laurens Road Baptist Church by Reverend J. Oscar Phillips. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
