Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. today at Okeechobee, where he has resided since leaving here about 15 years ago.
Masonic rites were observed at the grave.
Besides his widow, Mrs. Ollie Turbyfill daus Miss Julia Turbyfill, Okeechobee, Mrs. Gertrude E. Stewart, Houston, Tex., Mrs. Blanche Chesser, Hollister, Mrs. Virtus Baker, Miami and Mrs. Phalta Baker, Miami and one son, Leander S. Turbyfill, St. Augustine as well as several grandchildren, survive.
Mrs. Chesser, wife of Dewrel Chesser of Hollister was at her father’s bedside when death came. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Tuesday, 2 Apr 1940.)
