This site will only let us designate two "siblings", so I want to list here that this is my brother.

Known most of his life as "Lyle", his given first name, he decided upon entering the military to be called "Dave", nickname for his middle name...guess it seemed easier, or perhaps more relatable for him. Lyle was always a very private person and driven to succeed in his military career.

Lyle was friendly, helpful, and well liked, but guarded in his personal relationships which seemed to give him a "lone wolf" persona. It was difficult for many who wanted to be close to him. This independence made him a very strong individual, seemingly emotionally dependent on no one. That discipline served him well in his profession.

Lyle David "Dave" Craig went home to his Heavenly Father on March 27, 2023. He married DeAnna Larsen, the love of his life, on June 13, 1965. They would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary this year.

During his lifetime, Dave spent several years in highway construction with his Dad. Shortly after that, he began a long career in the Navy Submarine Corp, specializing in nuclear power operations. He and DeAnna lived mostly on the East coast, with an exception of an assignment in Idaho, where he headed a Navy team in building the nuclear submarine facility at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). They loved their years in the Navy and made many lifelong friends.

After retiring from the Navy, he and DeAnna eventually settled in Reno, where he began a second career as a Plant Supervisor at the Clorox Corporation's Hidden Valley Ranch manufacturing facility. Retiring a second time, they then moved to Gold Beach, Oregon on the Rogue River, to follow his love of fishing.

Dave leaves behind his loving wife DeAnna, and a son and daughter. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He loved spending time with his fantastic children and was so very proud of them.

He also leaves behind two sisters, two brothers-in-law, one brother and sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley & Rachel Craig and a sister. Dave was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Rest in peace, God bless and keep you, sweetheart. You will be very missed.

Funeral services were held at Walton's Funeral Home 600 West 2nd Street, Reno, NV on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Viewing was from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment followed at Sierra Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 141 Memorial Drive, Reno, NV.
