David Allen Cox, 18 of Rockingham passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008 at First Health Richmond Memorial Hospital. David was born May 17, 1989 in Florence, SC a son of Kimberly Dawkins and Lester Allen Cox.
David; beloved son, brother, grandson, and uncle will be missed dearly. David loved and cherished his family and many friends. David graduated from Richmond Senior High School in 2007. He worked at Danny Bunch Landscaping and was also a former employee of Food Lion. In his spare time he loved to fish and always teased and joked with his family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather; Linwood R. Witherspoon, and paternal grandparents; Dennis and Myrtle Dawkins.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 11:00 am at
West Rockingham United Methodist Church by Rev. Don Dawkins and Rev. Larry Chandler. Burial will follow at Dawkins Cemetery.
Surviving are his parents; Kimberly and Roger Dawkins of the home, father; Lester Allen Cox of Columbia, SC, sisters; Jessica and Veronica Cox of Rockingham, maternal grandparents; Frank and Joyce Parrott of Florence, SC, paternal grandparents; Frank and Margaret Blanton of Longs, SC, nephew; Christopher "CJ" Fucci of Rockingham, a very close friend and the love of his life; Sammie Joe Denney of Rockingham, and a host of family and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 5, 2008 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.
