He was born March 17, 1938, in Eldridge, to Joseph Earl and Mamie Pearl Bench Ripley, who preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Don Ripley.
On Nov. 3, 1963, he married Dixie Moore.
He was a groundman operator for a local electric union.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie; two daughters, Rhonda Jacobs and her husband, Darell and Lee Ann Pendergraft and her husband, Bruce, all of Eldridge; four brothers, Shawnee Ripley and his wife, Dorthaia, and Glen Ripley and his wife, Edeta, all of Eldridge; Dale Ripley and his wife, Marie, of Independence; Gene Ripley and his wife, Mary Rose, of the state of California; two sisters, Crystal McKnight, of St. Joseph and Geraldine Grozinger, of Independence; four grandchildren, and other relatives.

Funeral Service for Mr. Ripley will be held Thursday, March 6, 2008, at 11:00 A.M. at Shadel's Colonial Chapel.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8:00 P.M.
Burial will be at Hufft Cemetery.
