Services were held Tuesday, March 24 at 10 am at the Parkview Mortuary Chapel for Calvin J. Baker of McFarland, California.
Rev. Glenn Stanford of the Church of the Brethren officiated the services. Interment was in North Kern District Cemetery.
Baker was born November 16, 1909 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to John Calvin Baker and Lydia "Liddie" (McDonald) Baker. His oldest sister, Beulah was born in Texas, but he and his brother, Thurlow and his sisters, Annie and Ila Jo were born in Oklahoma...Annie & Calvin were born in Ardmore, OK. Ila Jo was born in Boswell, OK and Thurlow was born in Valliant, OK.
Calvin was a WW II veteran. He had lived in the McFarland, California area about twenty (20) years. Calvin didn't have any children and neither did his sister, Annie nor his brother, Thurlow.
Calvin Baker died March 19, 1980 at Delano Community Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Calvin Baker and Lydia "Liddie" (McDonald) Baker, his sister, Beulah (Urquhart) Hines and his brother, Thurlow Baker.
Survivors include two sisters, Annie Allen of McFarland, California and Ila Jo Boston of Bakersfield, California; 10 nephews and 3 nieces.
