Bertha Ellen Adams was born on April 22, 1918, in Paden, OK, and departed this life on Friday, August 6, 2004, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 86.

Bertha, the daughter of Joseph and Leacey (Holder) Capps, was a resident of Paden most of her life. She married Carney Adams on May 18, 1936, in Okemah. He preceded her in death on February 28, 1996. They were married 59 years and 9 months. Bertha graduated from Paden High School with the class of 1936. She was a member of the Burnett Mission Church and enjoyed being a housewife, raising cattle, gardening, growing flowers and feeding her family delicious meals. Her parents and two sons, Billy Joe Adams and Jerry L. Adams, preceded Bertha in death.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Charles E and Ruby Adams of Paden; daughter, Darlene A. Adams of Paden; daughter-in-law, Edith Adams, of Paden; brothers-in-law, Bud Adams & his wife, Wanda, Seminole, OK, Ralph "Bud" Stone of Paden, Robert Gentry of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Mildred Capps of Colorado; grandchildren, Ronald Adams and his wife Judy of Anchorage, Alaska, Casey Adams of Anchorage, Alaska, Mark Adams and his wife Stephanie of Paden, Janice Gamble of Anchorage, Alaska, Marqueita Coon and her husband Steve of Paden, Jitana Graf and her husband Patrick of Colwich, KS; 16 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great grandchildren.
