OAKBORO – On Saturday, February 25, 2023, Mrs. Patricia Hester Adcock Hammack, 90, passed away peacefully at Atrium Health Stanly in Albemarle.

There will be a memorial service at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Oakboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Waits officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

The burial will be at a later date in Maplewood Cemetery in Durham.

Pat was born June 12, 1932, in Durham County, NC, and was the only child of the late
John Charles Hester
Velma Mae Wilson Hester

She attended Durham County public schools and was first married to the late
Yuille Wallace Adcock, Jr.
(Marriage: 20 Jul 1951 • Durham, NC)
who was a NC Highway Patrolman. They were stationed in Wadesboro, where she worked for a period of time at Belk Department Store. They were blessed with two daughters who grew up in Wadesboro.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
2nd husband, Gerald Hammack
Grandson, Rob Thomas

Those left to remember Pat are her daughters,
Cheryl Adcock Cameron (Jim) of Oakboro
Debbie Adcock Thomas (Randy) of Marshville

Granddaughters:
Carrie Stroud *Chris) of Marshville
Stephanie Church (Jerry) of Monroe
Shannon Carpenter (Justin) of Peachland

Great-grandchildren:
Cameron Stroud, Alexys Laney, Jada Church, Juliana Church, Weston Carpenter and Daylen Carpenter.

Pat's family is most grateful for the staff at Taylor House Assisted Living in Albemarle for all they did for her while she was a resident there.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakboro First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 10, Oakboro, NC 28129.
