Milton Everett Richards
JUNE 29, 1950 – FEBRUARY 18, 2023

Milton Richards, beloved and adored husband, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the age of 72.
Milton was born on the 29th of June, 1950 in Houston, Texas, to DeLoss "Dick" and Frankie Lucile Richards. He and his sister Jan spent summers on their aunt's farm in Bellville. He graduated cum laude from Spring Branch High School in 1968, and went on to receive an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Houston. On August 3rd, 2002 he married the love of his life, Jeanette Kaye Behrens, in Katy, Texas. He was an entrepreneur for most of his career, owning an auto mechanic shop, leasing houses and commercial properties, and finally co-owning and running Hands-On Tasks with his wife Jeanette for the last twenty years.

Milton was a member of Joy Lutheran Church and before that Holy Cross Lutheran Church. He was a Stephen minister while at Holy Cross, counseling fellow members as they faced difficult times in life. He participated in Via de Cristo. He helped organize and lead Discovery Weekends at Holy Cross, and also volunteered his time helping in the office and with maintenance around the church. A gifted musician, Milton enjoyed playing guitar for his church praise bands for over 30 years. He played at worship services, weddings, nursing homes, and many community functions. When the band wasn't available to play at Joy Lutheran Church, Milton recorded and prepared music for the church to use.

Milton welcomed the challenge of diagnosing and repairing almost anything, from things at his own home and business, to helping family and friends with their projects. He enjoyed building and flying RC model airplanes and playing chess. Milton was a fan of NASA and all things related to space exploration. He was fiercely patriotic, and loved America. He was a leader in the Katy Tea Party and was a huge Rush Limbaugh fan. He enjoyed reading about politics and history, with World War II history being his favorite.

But most of all, Milton treasured his time with his grandsons. He loved to feed the birds with Brady, play games with Cammie, and swim with Leonin. Milton even showed the boys how to do a proper cannonball. Milton was a loving constant in their lives. He attended Grandparent's Day, soccer games, T-ball games, and loved having the kids come to Hands On Tasks to "work."

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jeanette Richards and her sons Randy Solberg, Mike Solberg and his wife Shelby, Rick Solberg and his wife Jill; as well as his most precious grandsons, Brady, Leonin, and Camden.

Milton is preceded in death by his father DeLoss "Dick" Richards, mother Frankie, and sister Jan.

The family will receive friends at a viewing from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Joy Lutheran Church, 717 FM 359 Richmond, TX 77406. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday morning at Joy Lutheran Church with Pastor Randy Conley officiating. A luncheon will follow the service.
