Dorothy Jeanne Teague Brewer Maclin, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and loyal friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 17, 2023, at the age of 94.

Dorothy Jeanne Teague was born on December 9, 1928, in High Point, North Carolina, to Lewis Everett Teague and Margaret Rankin Teague. Jeanne graduated from the Women's College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a degree in education.

Jeanne Teague met her husband, A. Max Brewer, when he was best man in her sister's wedding. Jeanne and Max married in Guilford, North Carolina, in August of 1950.

Max took a position as an attorney with a law firm in Titusville, Florida, and in 1950, as a new bride, Jeanne joined him and began teaching at Titusville Elementary School.

Jeanne enthusiastically supported her husband in his political career as state representative, campaign manager, legislative liaison, and State Road Board member. In 1966, Max Brewer tragically died in a private plane crash, which he was flying solo in dangerous weather.

Jeanne Brewer later married Nelson Maclin and they lived together in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Jeanne was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Titusville, then became a charter member of Park Avenue Baptist Church. For 71 years, she was a member of P.E.O. International where she made lifelong friends and served in every office and on many committees.

Jeanne participated in bridge clubs and prayer groups, volunteered in the community and in her children's schools.

She and her family, especially her grandchildren, enjoyed summers at New Smyrna Beach at the Sandpiper Condominium.

She was well-known in the community, and with her friendly nature, outgoing personality, and warm southern drawl she made instant friends with everyone she met. She had a knack for making people feel special and had an amazing memory for names and faces.

Jeanne is survived by her four children, son Stephen Max Brewer (Winnie) of Titusville, FL; son Michael Lewis Brewer (Gretel) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; daughter Nancy Brewer Morgan (Mark) of New Smyrna Beach, FL; and daughter Kelly Brewer Marshall (Blake) of Palm Coast, FL; nine grandchildren, Trevor Brewer (Ashley), Breck Brewer (Lauren), Torey Brewer (Staci), Catherine Morgan Carlson (Brad), Annie Morgan Roddenberry (Jonas), Max Morgan, Ryan Marshall (Katie), Tyler Marshall (Marisa), Blair Marshall (Katie); and 18 great-grandchildren: Dillon, Teague, Claire, Sadie, Jaye, Quinn, Thomas, Summer, Blayke, Easton, Callen, Simon, Lucy, Owen, Annie, Miles, Jeannie, and James.

Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Max Brewer, in 1966, and later her granddaughter, Elise Megan Brewer, and her great-grandson, Henry.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 2, at Park Avenue Baptist Church, Titusville, FL, at 11 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in memory of Jeanne to either Park Avenue Baptist Church or the P.E.O. International Educational Loan Fund. Donations to P.E.O. can be sent to the Executive Office, Treasurer's Dept., 3700 Grand Avenue, Des Moines, IA, 50312.
