June Elise Adams, 92, of Bardstown, died Saturday, January 21, 2023, at Landmark of Bardstown following a stroke. She was born July 3, 1930, in Louisville to the late Joseph Leon and Sarah Louise (Wigginton) Adams.

She attended Campbellsville College and worked many years as a medical secretary in Louisville. She later graduated with a bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville.

Following her career as a social worker, last working for Seven Counties, she relocated to Sarasota, Florida, for the warmth and travel opportunities.

In her later years, she returned to Louisville to be closer to family. She was a member of Hurstbourne Baptist Church and enjoyed the many friendships formed there. She also took pleasure in reading, crafting and painting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Elsmere, and Glenn, and a nephew, Ronnie.

She is survived by one sister, Billie Joyce Simpson; one sister-in-law, Alice Jean Adams; and five nieces and nephews, Karol Inmon, Glenn Leigh Adams, Geri Rice, Lisa Adams-Wise, and Joe Simpson.

Cremation was chosen. The celebration of her life was Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.
