OBITUARY:
Cora Lena Bowen of Church Hill, TN, 82, died Tuesday, February 9,1988. She was a former resident of Blackwater. A native of Scott Co., she was a member of Roller's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church of Pattonsville and The Bowen Family Trio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gale Roger Bowen in 1958; one daughter and six sons.
Surviving are one son, the Rev. Junior L. Bowen of Duffield; four daughters, Rose Blevins and Cora L. Neeley of Kingsport TN, Ruby Williams of North Augusta, SC, and Wanda Joyner of Church Hill, TN; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two brothers; Ulys Giles of Coeburn and Porter Giles of Jonesville.
Services were conducted Friday at Warren Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alex Willis and Elder Gale Derrick officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Robinette Funeral Home in Blackwater was in charge of arrangements.
