Anthony R. Galante, 70, of Staten Island, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on December 31, 2022. Tony was born on August 4, 1952 to parents Ann and Anthony Galante. He was very proud to be a native Staten Islander.

He was predeceased by his daughter Dina Lynn, parents Ann and Anthony Galante and brother Butch Galante. He is survived by his loving wife Donna. He is also survived by his son Anthony Galante, his stepsons Robert McCarthy and Daniel McCarthy, his daughter-in-law Tracy McCarthy and 3 granddaughters, Meaghan, Erin and Caitlin McCarthy.

Tony succumbed to cancer as a result of his selfless actions on 9/11. He was working his job as a Staten Island Ferryboat Captain when the towers fell on that tragic day. Tony sailed into Manhattan to rescue passengers and to transport policemen, firemen and emergency equipment for weeks on end. He was diagnosed with 9/11 related cancer 20 years later.

Tony died a Hero.
