LORAINE, TEXAS
MRS. J. H. HOUSE BURIED HERE SUNDAY
Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock P.M. for Mrs. J. H. House. Rev. W. D. Green of Houston officiating.
Mrs. House was born Lucretia Elizabeth Rone July 8, 1857, in Wright County, Missouri. At the age of 12 she moved with her parents to Izard County, Arkansas. She was married to James Harrison House in 1874. Three years later they moved to Dallas County, Texas, and to Mitchell County in 1915. Mrs House died at the home of her son, Bill House, in Odessa,Texas on April 25, 1946.
She is survived by four sons and two daughters, 32 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren. The sons are Charlie House of Loraine, John W. House of Graham, Texas, Bob House of Artesia, New Mexico, and Bill of Odessa, Texas. The daughters are Mrs. Ora Porter of Colorado City, Texas and Mrs. Mary Bowman of Artesia, New Mexico. All of the children attended the funeral except Charlie of Loraine, who was ill.
Among the relatives and friends who attended the funeral were the following grandchildren; Lydie and Jimmy House, Juanita Aaron, Wilma Stevenson, and Price Bowman of Artesia, New Mexico; Boyd House of Electra; Carl House of Loraine; Mrs. Earl Cantrell, Gertha Carter, Graham; Dorie Marie Adell, Mildred and Billy House of Odessa; Floyd and Afton Smith of Ranger; Eunice Durden of Loraine; Jimmy and Benny House of Electra; and Robert E. Lee Porter of Colorado City.
Pallbearers were Bob Horton, Tom Ray, Jess Lee, Dan Butler, Homer Wilson and Dee McCollum.
Burial was in the Loraine Cemetery.
