Evaleen Hanna was one of eight children born to David and Mary Ann Hanna.Three of her siblings die before the 1900 census.
Her father and mother died in 1903 and 1904 respectively.
By the 1910 census Evaleen is age 23, unemployed, although both brothers and one of her sisters is working and all 5 live in the same home in Waukegan, IL. Annie is age 14, so Evaleen may be caring for Annie. By the 1917 both her brothers are living in California and serve in WWI. Sam is killed in the war and buried in France. After the war her brother, John Henry, moves to Washington DC, marries, fathers twins and works as a police officer for the District of Columbia.
All three sisters, remain single. They all reside in the same home with her sister, Jane, the eldest, owning the home in Waukegan, IL.
By 1920 Evaleen is age 33 and is working as a stenographer at an abstract office. In 1930 she is a bookkeeper at a security title and trust company. By 1940 she is an office clerk at the County Treasurer's office.
She outlives all her siblings and dies at age 92 and is listed on the Cook County death index.
