His visitation will be Wednesday, July 8, 2009, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in the Cumbee Family Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Mr. Cumbee was born Dec. 8, 1929, in Honey Hill, SC, a son of Cleetwood Cumbee and Rosa Wilson Cumbee. He was a former tugboat captain and an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Cumbee was preceded in death by a son, Edward Gleen Cumbee.
Surviving are, his wife, Mary Lou Murray Cumbee; a daughter, Angela Gaskins and her husband, Jackie, of Huger; a son, Reese Cumbee of Bethera; two sisters, Harriett Rivers of Texas and Emily Ackerman of Honey Hill; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
