Son of the late Fred Carter and Beulah Chadd. He graduated from Goltry High School in 1936. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Army in Hawaii, Okinawa, and Imo Jima. He married Dorothy E. Jensen in Rochester, MN, on February15, 1946. She preceded him in death on August 22, 1998. He was the manager for the Farmers Exchange of Goltry for more than 30 years retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #307 and a life member of the American Legion Post 43. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, two sisters, and one granddaughter. He was survived by four children, seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Graveside service held 9/26/2007
