Betty Henline Ray, 88, of Morganton, NC, gained her heavenly reward Wednesday, December 7, 2022.

Born in McDowell County, NC on November 21, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Fredric Theodore Henline and Dorothy Eulala Gosnell Henline.

Betty was a graduate of Glen Alpine High School and member of Bridgewater Presbyterian Church. She retired from Hanes Sara Lee after 15+ years of service. She enjoyed being outside, working in her flowers and garden. She also enjoyed crochet, sewing, and reading her bible. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her children, Clinton Ray (Pamela), Freida Ray Clark, Thomas Ray, Anthony Ray, and Leesa Ray Keller (Paul); nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Thomas Max Ray; and siblings, Christine Powell, Sam Henline, Charlie Henline, and Jesse Glen Henline.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Monday, December 12, 2022 at Burke Memorial Park.
