Actor. He was best known to television viewers for his roles on the popular daytime soap operas "Days of Our Lives" and "The Young and the Restless" from the 1980s to the 21st Century.

After starting as a stand-up comic, he studied acting with Sandy Meisner. He made his acting debut in 1959 on the television series "Lock Up." Besides "Days of Our Lives" and "The Young and the Restless," he went on to appear in such series as "Dan Raven," "Bonanza," "That Girl," "The Virginian," "The F.B.I.," "Kojak," "Cannon," "The Six Million Dollar Man," and "CSI: Miami." In 1961, he made his film debut in "The Marriage-Go-Round."

His later film credits included such titles as "The Three Stooges Meet Hercules," (1962) "Airport," (1970) "The Candidate," (1972) "Rollercoaster," (1977) "The Electric Horseman," (1979) "An American Reunion," (2003) and "The Big Miracle." (2012) His work was honored with various nominations and awards through the years. He also earned an Oscar nomination for his story credit on the screenplay for the film "The Deer Hunter" in 1978.
