Ernest "Bear" Grissom

Kingsport - Ernest "Bear" Grissom, 73, Nall Street, went to be with the Lord at 9:45 p.m. Monday (Dec. 22, 2003) at Indian Path Medical Center due to a heart attack.

"Bear" was born in Sullivan County where he lived his entire life. He was an employee of Steadman Construction as a dry waller until he retired.

He attended Bellamy Community Chapel.

Mr. Grissom was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Howard Grissom.

Surviving are his former wife, Delores Wolfe Grissom, of the home; two daughters, Kay Grissom, Kingsport, and Tammy Wolfe, Detroit, Mich.; four grandchildren; brother, Herman Grissom, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 11 a.m. to 12 noon today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home chapel, downtown.

Services will be conducted at 12 noon today in the funeral home chapel with Brother Lonnie Berry officiating.

Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
