Mr. Abner worked as a business agent for Painters Local 80 in Lafayette.
He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy in Salem, served in the Army in the Korean War and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Moose Lodge, both of Salem.
Surviving are daughters, Orpha Elena Tomlonson and Roberta Abner, sons, Robert J. Abner (wife: Debera), Andrew G. Abner and Robert D. Abner, Dorothy Roberts and Gladys Shepard, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was also receded in death by tw0 sisters, Mary Evelyn Petty and Martha Jane Pennington.
