Barnell "Barney" H. Rowold, age 95 of Clarence, passed away on Tuesday September 13, 2022 at the Clarence Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence on Friday September 16 at 10:30 A.M with Reverend Matt Schneider-Adams officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 until service time at the church. Burial will be in the Lowden Cemetery.

Barney was born March 12, 1927 in Lowden, Iowa to Herman and Emelie (Kreinbring) Rowold. He married Helen Burmeister on December 26, 1951 at Zion United Church of Christ in Lowden.

Survivors include his wife Helen; granddaughter Carrie (Chad) Nierling of Iowa City; great granddaughter Paige Nierling of Iowa City; and many special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Terry; brothers Ed and Bill; and sister Marie Goldsmith.

Barney proudly served his country in the Army and was a Korean War veteran. He was a lifelong farmer and was a great husband, father, grandfather, and uncle. He enjoyed playing cards and visiting with family and friends. Barney had served on the church council and the coop board in previous years.
