Funeral services will be held at 4 p. m. tomorrow in Kathwood Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. P. Edward Rickenbaker and Bill Mills. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Colonel Addison was born in Anderson, a son of the late William Madison and Emma Etheredge Addison.
He was a member of Kathwood Baptist Church, a deacon, and Christian Education Teacher. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and it's Law School.
Colonel Addison was a member of 117th Infantry, 30th Nation Guard Division. He was commissioned second lieutenant of Infantry Airborne Training being an original member of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment.
He transferred to the Judge Advocate General Corps, USA, and served until his retirement in 1964. He was an original member and past president of Mid-South Carolina Chapter of the Retired Officers Association.
Colonial Addison was a member of the Kiwanis, the Richland County Bar Association, the Columbia Estate Planning Council and Military Order of The World Wars.
He received the Bronze Star with OLC and the Army Commendation Medal with two OLC.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lois Ewart Addison; to daughters, Mrs. William Creech of Memphis, Tenn., and Miss Emma Addison of Brevard College, N. C., a son, W. A. D. "Bland" Addison, Columbia University, New York City; a sister, Mrs. A. K Wingard of Columbia; and a brother Carl E. Addison of Beaufort.
