Megan Christine Einfeldt Heywood passed quietly from this earth and into the arms of her loving Father in Heaven, Nov. 5, 2006. We love her immensely and miss her desperately.

Perhaps you were touched by Megan. Perhaps you will be.

Megan was born June 17, 1980 to Tim and Maureen Crimin Einfeldt. She was born in Mt. Pleasant, Utah as her parents attended Snow College. She was the oldest of what would be a family of ten children. Her family couldn't have had a better first child in her obedience, dedication and example. Megan was born with the gift of endearment. She was dearly loved by all who knew her.

In her early elementary years, Megan traveled life's sojourn in the Denver Metro area of Aurora. She attended Highline Elementary School there, winning many treasured life-long friends. She was a "teacher's" dream and a faithful friend. Her gratitude for others was contagious and shared in kind. Upon moving to Salt Lake and Cedar City, she kept the mailbags full with her loyal correspondences. She esteemed her friends as extensions of her family- sisters and brothers, dear to her.

While in Cedar City, Megan attended Cedar Middle and graduated from Cedar High School in 1998. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish and French Clubs. She was a violin Gold Cup recipient and a member of CHS Symphony Orchestra. Megan was one of legendary Coach Bob Corry's Cross-country girls.

Megan went on to attend Snow College where her parents had met. She enjoyed Orchestra, and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She was a member of the Snow's Academic Honors Program. Megan was a midfielder on Snow's Women's Club Soccer Team and was "voted" the team's most polite and courteous player.

While at Snow, Megan met Philip David Heywood. He won her heart. They both continued on to Southern Utah University where Philip played football and Megan studied linguistics, particularly Spanish and Sign Language. She also added Special Ed along with her Secondary Teacher Certification. In 2002, Megan was recognized as the runner-up for the SUU Peztalozzi Award for excellence in Student Teaching. She was an exceptional student who loved learning and delighted in the fulfillment of teaching and learning from others.

Amid her SUU studies, Megan married Philip in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 10, 2001. On Dec. 19, 2002, Megan and Philip welcomed Wesley James Heywood into their family. Soon after on June 19, 2004, Tessa Christine arrived, joining their family. Krissy JaNelle blessed their lives on March 28, 2006. Megan was a tireless, devoted and loving Mother. She loved her husband and children with all that she had. It was evidenced in all she did. She loved them dearly.

Megan and Philip had been living in Ringgold, Georgia where their home is. She taught violin there and nurtured relationships with neighbors who sought her out upon seeing her goodness. Megan enjoyed so much her associations with friends and family. She also loved water skiing, kick-boxing, soccer, hiking, reading, writing, playing the violin, and listening to music. Megan especially loved long run with her family-no matter who it was.

Megan was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She graduated from Seminary and Institute and served in many teaching and leadership capacities in both Relief Society and Primary. She received her Young Womanhood medallion in 1998. Megan loved the gospel of Jesus Christ which was reflected in her countenance and testimony as she lived its principles. She was indeed, a Daughter of God.

Young and beautiful, Megan had so many promised blessings ahead. In an effort to find understanding, we look to Alma, a Prophet in the Book of Mormon. In Alma7:11-12, he said, regarding our Savior, Jesus Christ, "And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor his people according to their infirmities."

Her name, Megan Christine, was chosen for her upon it's meaning, "Great One, Beloved of God." We truly believe that, as others, "...the Lord receiveth {Megan} up unto himself, in glory (Alma 14:11)." He loves her and she loves Him.

Megan is survived by her loving husband Philip, son, Wesley, daughters, Tessa and Krissy. Megan is also survived by her parents, Tim and Maureen, sister, Arianne (Adam) Brown (children, Anderson and Aspen) and Molly Maureen (Fiancé, Paul Burkenshaw). She is survived by brothers Blair Timothy (Mary and daughter Elliott), Elder Rand Benjamin Einfeldt (Singapore Mission), Joel Duane, Jace Michael, Court Davidson, Coy Jackson and Kett Wesley. She is survived by Grandparents David and Etoy Einfeldt of Green Pond, Alabama and Duane and Gloria Crimin of Ogden. She is also survived by her in-laws, Joseph and NaDene Heywood of Brigham City and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and in-laws who have treasured relationships with her. Megan was preceded in death by a Grandmother, Judy Einfeldt and Great-Grandmother, Beda Einfeldt. She is survived by so many friends, many she didn't even know, but they knew her. Memories of her love and example will live on in our hearts. She truly endeared all she met.
