The Lord took Charles Ray Hobbs, 69, on Feb. 9, 2008. Charles was born to Thomas and Reba Hobbs on May 22, 1938 in Eunice, NM. Charles married Della Mae Daniel on Nov. 4, 1961 in Ralls, Texas. They then moved to Lubbock where he lived most of his life.

Charles drove trucks for Wylie Hudman and Robert Heath Trucking and served in the Army Reserves. Charles enjoyed spending time with his family in his front yard under his favorite shade trees.

He is survived by wife, Della Hobbs; six children, Webb Hobbs of Houston, Danny Hobbs, Debra Rex, Lonnie Hobbs, Dennis Hobbs, Casey Davis, all of Lubbock; and a sister, Janelle Mayo of Rye, Texas. Charles was also the proud grandfather of 21 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; several cousins; and his trucking family that he considered his brothers.

Charles will be dearly missed and loved.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2008 at Sanders Memorial Chapel with Johnny Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
