Sadie became the third wife of Conrad Marshall of DeSoto, Johnson County, Kansas on May 18, 1887. At that time she also became the stepmother of his four children: Herbert, Amy, Ernest and Walter Alexis Marshall. Herbert and Amy were already married, so Sadie also gained daughter-in-law Emma Ann Kennedy Marshall, wife of stepson Herbert, and son-in-law William Byron Maggs, husband of stepdaughter Amy. Stepson Ernest Steward Marshall married Nannie Isabelle Collins in 1891 and stepson Walter Alexis Marshall married Minnie Garten in 1896. Sadie is remembered by Marshall descendants as "both thrifty and generous, a splendid cook and house keeper and a strong member of the Methodist Church."
Since Ernest and his father had been partners in the farm, he inherited it when his father Conrad died on February 23, 1922. Later Sadie moved to Basehor to be near her sister Elizabeth Miller. Sadie died on November 12, 1934 of blood poisoning in a hospital in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. She was 73 years, 5 months and 6 days old. She was buried on the left side of her husband Conrad. His second wife, Mary Jean Steward Marshall, was buried on his right side in the DeSoto Cemetery.
