Herbert Dwight Stair, age 88, of Wadsworth, was called Home to meet his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, unexpectedly on Monday, October 31, 2022 at Akron City Hospital following complications from heart surgery. He was born in Wayne County, OH on October 28, 1934 to the late Herbert J. and Viola J. Stair. On May 12, 1956, he married Donna Jean Martin, who preceded him in death on January 29, 2022.

After graduation from Northwestern High School, he farmed with his father prior to joining the Army. Following his honorable discharge, he attended Ashland College earning his bachelor's degree in accounting. He worked at the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company in the Finance and Accounting areas for over 30 years. Upon retirement, he served 10 years as the business administrator for Grace Church of Norton where he and Donna were long-standing members. He also served in the roles of elder and adult Sunday School teacher. His faith in Jesus Christ and family were his life's priorities.

He is survived by his sons, Frederick (Linda) Stair of Hartville and Richard (Penny) Stair of Bath Township; his five grandchildren, Nathanael (Ashley) Stair of Canal Fulton, Rachel (Lee) Barnhouse of Uniontown, Micah (Jacqui) Stair of Hartville, Jessica (Chad) Jorza of North Canton, and Corbin Stair of Richfield; his 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Clark E. Stair.

The family will greet friends at Grace Church of Norton, 3970 Cleveland-Massillon Road, Norton, Ohio 44203 on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 1 p.m., with a Celebration of Life service to begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Gregory officiating and Pastor Robert Combs assisting. He will be interred at the Mohican Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Lattasburg, OH in a private ceremony prior to the service.
