Vera Marie Vance McCormick, Age 73, of 2018 Park, Baxter Springs, Kansas, passed from this life suddenly at her home at 11:50 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2008.

Vera was born October 16, 1934 in Baxter Springs, Kansas. She attended the Blackjack School, west of Galena, Kansas, and was a lifelong area resident. She had worked as a Spinner Operator for various Carpet Mills. She was a member of the Landmark Faith Tabernacle of Baxter Springs, Kansas.

Daughter of Clarence and Charlotte Bolean Vance.

She married Ray McCormick September 6, 1974 in Dalton, GA. He survives at the home. Other loved ones include Two Stepsons, Steve Ray McCormick, State of Tenn, and Buford Ray McCormick Jr., of New Hope, Ala.; Two step daughters, Mary Ann McCormick and Jennie McCormick, both of Covington, Ken.; Three Step Grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, February 11, 2008 at 10:30 AM at the Landmark Faith Tabernacle, 9th and Park, Baxter Springs, Kansas. Rev. David Mitchell will officiate. Interment will be at the Lowell Cemetery, rural Baxter Springs. Services are under the direction of Derfelt's Baxter Chapel of Baxter Springs, Kansas.
