Three daughters of Mrs. Martha E. Bennett and their husbands
were bearers for her body at the funeral and burial services
Wednesday. Short services were held at the residence of
Mr. and Mrs. John White on the New Paris Pike at 9:30 o'clock,
the Rev. H.S. James of the United Brethren church of this city
officiating. The body was then taken to Liberty, where funeral
services were held in the Methodist church at 12:30 o'clock, the
Rev. C.W. Whitman officiating. Burial was in the West Point
cemetery at Liberty. The surviving descendants are: Three sons,
William S. Bennett, Prophetstown, Ill.: Charles Bennett,
Fred Bennett, both of Richmond; four daughters,
Mrs. Emma Johns, Mrs. Cora Martin of Liberty,
Mrs. Laura White, the three who with their husbands bore the body,
and Mrs. Eva Lee, of this city.
