Actress. She was born Eileen Rose Annucci to Amerigo Giuseppe Annucci, who was a dentist and Rose Isabel Ryan, who was a nurse. From 1955 until 2015 she had role in over 20 big screen films that included "At Close Range" 1986, "The Indian Runner" 1991, "The Pledge" 2001 and "Rules Don't Apply" 2016. In small screen films and television episodes she had roles in over 35 productions that included "Goodyear Television Playhouse" 1955, "Bonanza" 1961,1962, "Marcus Welby, M.D." 1973, "Matlock" 1992, "Arliss" 2000 and "Grey's Anatomy" 2014.

She was the wife of Hollywood actor Leo Penn and mother of singer-songwriter and composer Michael Penn and actors Sean Penn and Chris Penn, with whom she appeared in the 1986 film "At Close Range" (as their grandmother). She appeared on Broadway in "Sing Till Tomorrow" (1953) and "Comes a Day" (1958). She left acting after marrying Penn to raise their three sons, returning later to practice her craft. She died at her home in Malibu in 2022, one week before her 95th birthday.
