Born in Kiszkowa, Prussia-Poland. Louis immigrated to America, with his siblings, in 1868. He apparently returned to Poland because he is found again on the Hamburg Passenger lists entering the US at the Port of New Orleans, May 1873. Louis was the son of Andreas Kochanowicz (Kotch), and Apolonia (AKA Martina) Pawlicka. He married Weronicka Jankowska, in New Waverly, Texas on 22 Apr 1877. This union produced 8 daughters and 3 sons. Their names were Jennie(F); Mary(F); Bruna(F); Joanna(F); Josephine(F); Maggie(F); Stash(M); Steve(M); Victoria(F); Henry(M); and Helena(F).
