Baroness of Sorocaba by marriage. She married the Baron of Sorocaba, Boaventura Delfim Pereira, in 1812, with whom she had three daughters, Margarida, Maria da Glória and Matilde. She was a mistress and lover of Emperor Pedro I of Brazil, with whom she had a son, Rodrigo Delfim Pereira (he was given her husband's surnames, as she was a widower), who was legitimised in his father's will. She was also the sister of Domitila de Castro Canto e Melo, Marchioness of Santos, another mistress and lover of the Emperor.
