Mr. Abercrombie was born on December 29th, 1940 in Gilmer County to the late Richard Abercrombie and Lorena Smith Abercrombie. He worked at Galaxy Carpet for over 25 years and is a member of the Clear Creek Baptist Church. Leonard's purpose in his life was to love and care for his family. Mr. Abercrombie loved God and Sunday mornings at Clear Creek with family and friends. For fun, he enjoyed a game of monopoly and cards with his sons.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Abercrombie, and five brothers, Clyde Abercrombie, Roy Abercrombie, Herman Abercrombie, Otis Abercrombie, and Hoyt Abercrombie.
Survivors include: his wife, Betty Jean Evans Abercrombie; two sons, Michael and Tonya Abercrombie and Scotty and Karla Abercrombie, all of Ellijay; one brother, James Abercrombie; three sisters, Rosa Lee Burgess, Elsie Kowitz, and Mattie Hood; two grandchildren and numerous friends also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 19th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. from the Clear Creek Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
