ERWIN - John Lattie Metcalf, 65, Route 3, Chestoa community, died Monday at 2:55 p.m. in Unicoi County Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
A native of Unicoi County, and a son of the late George and Lavada Hensley Metcalf, he was a retired sawmill operator and a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Artie Stanton Metcalf; two sons, Ben Lee and Jackie of the home; seven brothers, Ulyes, Jake, Tony, Jade and Hubert, Flag Pond, Dempsey, Weaverville, N.C. and Bart, Mars Hill, N.C.
Ledford Chapel is in charge.
