He was a lifelong resident of Mansfield and retired from the Mansfield Post Office in 1980. Otto served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was stationed with the 103rd Combat Battalion of the 28th Division.
Otto is survived by his daughter, Kay Leibfritz and her husband, Mark; granddaughter, Lindsay Webb and her husband, Matt; grandson, Drew Leibfritz and his wife, Samantha; two great-grandchildren, Ayden and Annsley Webb; and a special niece, Linda Starman and her husband, Louie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen T. (Ruth) and Otto R. Abbott Sr.; wife, Mary Ann Abbott; son, John Abbott; and sister, Ruth Reger.
Private graveside services will be held in Mansfield Cemetery. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
