Richard Alberstadt passed away peacefully at home at the age of 80. Beloved husband of MaryAnn Alberstadt for 54 wonderful years. Loving father. Proud grandfather of two beautiful granddaughters. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Alberstadt and Shirley F. Alberstadt. He is survived by his brother. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Richard was a veteran of the Louisiana National Guard. After graduating from the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, Richard immediately found employment and worked his way up from an entry level position to the president of the company; which he eventually retired from after 42 years of service. The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Benson Cancer Center and Ochsner Hospital for the compassion they have shown through the years.
