Miss Mary E. Slade
Bride of C. J. Walker
The wedding of Miss Mary Elizabeth Slade, daughter of the late John Slade and Mrs. Sara Fields Slade of this city, and Cedric Joseph Walker, son of Mrs. Cedric Joseph Walker, was solemnized at noon, Saturday, at the Congregational church at Wayland, Mass., with Rev. Gardner D. Cattle officiating.
Only members of the immediate families were in attendance at the ceremony, which was simple and dignified. Mrs. Walker was wed with a wedding ring which has been used in the Walker family for five generations.
Following the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Walker left for a wedding trip to New York. They will reside at Wayland, where Mr. Walker is assistant treasurer of the New England Power company.
Mrs. Walker is a very charming young woman. She attended Glendale College, and later was graduated from the Hamilton High school. Her higher education was received at Mt. Ida School for Girls, at Western College and at Wellesley, where she was graduated several years ago. Since her graduation, Mrs. Walker has been assistant executive secretary of the Wellesley alumnae department.
Mr. Walker is a graduate of Massachusetts Polytechnical College.

(Slade) Walker, passed away on October 31, 2001, age 93, of Kennett Square, PA, formerly of Wellesley, MA is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Walker of Abidjan, Cote D'Ivoire (West Africa) and two nieces. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2001 at St. Andrews Church in Wellesley, MA. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley, MA. Arrangements are being handled by the Kuzo & Gofus Funeral Home, Ltd. of Kennett Square, PA.
