Stuart George Goldsmith, 71, of Davenport, died Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Stu was born April 1, 1951 in Davenport, the son of Harlan and Hildegarde (Goeken) Goldsmith. He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1969 and Iowa State University in 1974 with a degree in Landscape Architecture.

He married (Schebler) on July 14, 1979 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Davenport.

Stu owned his own business, Quad Cities Irrigation, and had many loyal customers.

He enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a close group of friends who either met daily for a cup of coffee in the morning or a beer at night where they told tall tales and solved the world's problems.

He was known for his cooking, especially his potato salad recipe and many delicious desserts.

His parents preceded him in death.

Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.
