Paul Alexiou
Paul E. Alexiou, 80, a longtime resident of Annapolis, died April 16 after a lengthy illness.
He was born on January 29, 1932 in Piraeus, Greece to the late Efthemios and Maria Alexiou. Paul departed for the United States in 1952 in search of the American Dream. Upon arriving in Annapolis, he soon began working in the restaurant business with his late dear brother, George Alexiou.
In Annapolis, Paul also met the love of his life, his beloved late wife Penelope "Penny" Reid Alexiou. Paul and Penny came to be known as the owners of the famous Timmy's Carryout located on Bay Ridge Avenue with a secondary location on historical Maryland Avenue. Paul will always be remembered by customers, friends and relatives as a vibrant, warm, and gregarious man with a generous heart of gold.
Paul is survived by his beloved son.
Friends are invited to Paul's Life Celebration from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, at the George P. Kalas Funeral Home, 2973 Solomons Island Rd., Edgewater. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2747 Riva Rd., Annapolis. Interment St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Cemetery.
