Vernon Eganhouse
The funeral of Vernon J. Eganhouse, 53, was held at 10:30 a.m., June 19 at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Oxford Junction. Interment was in the Wyoming cemetery. Mr. R.J. Sigwarth officiated. Mr. Eganhouse died June 16 following an accident near Oxford Junction. He came in contact with an electrical current and fell from a pole. He was pronounced dead at Jackson county Public hospital in Maquoketa. Mr. Eganhouse was born at Bellevue, May 18, 1927, the son of Elmer and Amelia Kiefer Eganhouse. He was a graduate of Monmouth high school. Following two years of the service with the Air Force, he was married to Delores Jurgensen Feb. 22, 1949, at Stone City. He lived all of his married life in Wyoming. He was in the lime business for five years, operated a restaurant in Wyoming for three years, and had been in the sand and gravel business for the past 20 years. He was a past member of the Wyoming Volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Eganhouse is survived by his wife, Delores, one son, Gregory of Hale, two daughters , Mrs. Steve (Vicki) Ballou and Mrs. Terry (Pam) Rushford, both of Center Junction, three grandchildren , seven brothers, George and Merton of Wyoming, Robert of Pittsburgh, Pa., Leland of Monmouth, Gerald of Cedar Rapids, Thomas of Naperville, Hi., David of Lost Nation, three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Carmen) Rubel of Bellevue, Mrs. Rosemary Nolan, of Wyoming and Virginia Francis of Monmouth, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.
