Theresa was born July 3, 1928 in Evansville to the late Felix and Mary (Kissel) Preske. She was a gifted seamstress and worked in alterations at Shane's Uniform Company and DeJong's for several years. She not only taught her daughters to sew, but she felt it was so important for others to learn that she taught sewing classes for many years. Theresa enjoyed gardening, sewing, needlework and reading.
Surviving Theresa are her children, Frank (Jenny) Martin of Greenwood, IN, Ronald (Mary) Martin, Catherine (Loren) Gabe, Cheryl (Mark) Lannert, Patricia Eger and Christine (Joel Brittingham) Martin, all of Evansville; two brothers, Richard (Joan) Preske and Marvin (Ann) Preske; twelve grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Jerome Martin in 1990; by a sister, Sr. M. Angeline Preske, OSB and five brothers, John Preske, Rev. Felix Preske, Rev. Venantius Preske, Henry Preske and Aloysius Preske.
Funeral services for Theresa will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 17, 2022 at St. Joseph Cemetery in the mausoleum chapel, Rev. Eugene Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until service time on Friday at St. Joseph Cemetery mausoleum chapel, 2500 Mesker Park Drive.
