Asheville ~ Grover Lee "GL" Leslie, Jr. died on Friday, December 30, 2005 in a local hospital.
A native of Buncombe County, Mr. Leslie was the son of the late Grover Lee Leslie, Sr. and Ethel Morgan Leslie.
A 1938 graduate of Lee H. Edwards High School, he attended the US Naval Academy and the University of Tennessee prior to joining the US Army Air Force. He served in England during WW II as a lieutenant in the 8th Air Force 445th Bomber Group. His plane was shot down over Germany in 1944 and he became a POW for 13 months.
He was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
