Five found dead in car in Gallatin County

GLENCOE, Ky. — Police have found five bodies in a car that was submerged in a creek in rural Northern Kentucky.

The car was found in Eagle Creek near Kentucky 467 in Gallatin County, about 30 miles southwest of Cincinnati along the Ohio River. State police were called to the scene by local police at 4:30 p.m. today.

Investigators identified the family Friday evening after autopsies were complete. They are Glenn Allen Johnson Jr., 33; his pregnant wife, Kendra Nicole Johnson, 26; and their son Sevin, 5; daughter Mekenzie, 2; and daughter Mya Ula-Jean, 18 months. The family most recently lived in Hamilton, Ohio, but had family in Kentucky.

Autopsies at St. Luke Hospital East in Fort Thomas determined that they died of drowning.

Glenn Jr. and Kendra Johnson, their three children, and one unborn daughter all of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Sanders, Ky., were found dead, Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008 on Hwy. 467 in Sparta, Ky. after an auto accident.

Glenn Allen Johnson Jr., 33, was born Feb. 6, 1974, in Carrollton, Ky., the son of Glenn Allen Sr. and Marilyn Kay Young Johnson. He had a degree as an electrician and a degree in horticulture. He worked as an electrician for various construction companies and enjoyed playing computer games and cooking.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Marilyn and Larry Robbins of Sanders, Ky.; his father and stepmother, Glenn Sr. and Vicky Johnson of Sparta, Ky.; one daughter, Megan Nicole Green of Port Royal, Ky.; two sisters, Michelle Miller of Sanders, Ky. and Amy Lynn Perkins of Carrollton, Ky.; four brothers, Cranston Eric Robbins of Sanders, Ky., Jeffery Wayne Welch of Worthville, Ky., Ricky Lee Welch of Indiana and Teddy Allen Johnson of Sparta, Ky.; and his maternal grandmother, June Evelyn Gaylord of Madison.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kendra Nicole "Kelli" Johnson; two daughters, Mekenzie K-Lynn "Kenzie K" Johnson and Mya Ula-Jean Lou "MyMy" Johnson; one unborn daughter, Glenna Nicole Johnson; one son, Sevin Zyrin Johnson; and his grandmothers, Eula May Johnson and Opal Elizabeth Robbins.

Kendra Nicole "Kelli" Johnson, 26, was born May 28, 1981, in Madison, the daughter of Morris Dewayne and Debra Lynn Davis Purvis. She was a homemaker and mother and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed computers, music, cooking and talking on the phone.

She is survived by her mother, Debra Lynn Davis Lockridge of Hanover; her father, Morris Dewayne Purvis of Milton, Ky.; one daughter Megan Nicole Green of Port Royal, Ky.; two sisters, Jennifer Lynn Purvis of Hanover and Kayla Danielle Purvis of Madison; one step sister, Felicia Marie Hartman of Madison; one step brother, Justin Wade Stewart of Madison; her maternal grandparents, Adam G. "Frog" Davis of Madison and Mary Elizabeth Humphrey of Madison; her paternal grandparents, Danny and Cacky Purvis of Milton, Ky.; and her paternal great-grandmother, Myrtle Purvis of Milton, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Allen Johnson Jr.; two daughters, Mekenzie K-Lynn "Kenzie K" Johnson and Mya Ula-Jean Lou "MyMy" Johnson; one unborn daughter, Glenna Nicole Johnson; and one son, Sevin Zyrin Johnson.

Sevin Zyrin Johnson, 5, was born July 30, 2002 in LaGrange, Ky. He was a kindergarten student at the Lower Elementary School in Warsaw, Ky. He loved playing video games and working on the computer and like practicing karate moves on family and friends.

Mekenzie K-Lynn "Kenzie K" Johnson, 2, was born January 28, 2005, in LaGrange, Ky. She loved Sponge Bob Square Pants cartoons and loved to get dressed up and put on makeup.

Mya Ula-Jean Lou "MyMy" Johnson, 18 months, was born June 20, 2006, in LaGrange, Ky. She loved to listen to music and dance.

Glenn Jr. and Kendra Johnson's unborn daughter, Glenna Nicole Johnson, 27 weeks gestation, also died.

Burial will be private.
