Eloise Loretta Sheppard, 61, of Cross City passed away Friday January 4, 2008, at her home. Mrs Sheppard was born in Jena, Florida, and lived her lifetime in Dixie County. She enjoyed fishing and being in the woods. Mrs. Sheppard retired as office manager for Coast Gas in Cross City.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Sheppard of Cross City, sons Rick Sheppard of St. Petersburg, Florida and Travis Sheppard of Cross City; daughter Rhonda Ritchie of Tampa, Florida; brother, Glen Lockler of Sun Springs, Floridal sisters, Pearl osteen of Horseshoe Beach, Florida, Jonell Douglas and Evelyn Koon, both of Lake City, Florida; and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her brother, J. V. Lockler and her parents, Verne and Allie Lockler.

Funeral services were held Sunday, January 6, 2008, 2:30 P.M.at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home with Rev. James Butler officiating. Burial followed at Butler Cemetery in Horseshoe Beach. Visitation was held Saturday, January 5, 2008, between the hours of 6 and 8 P.M. at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home in Cross City, Florida.
