Robert H. Barron of Petersburg, NJ, went to be with our Lord on May 23, 2022 at the age of 87 years. He was born on June 27, 1934 to Elwood Barron and Dorothy Barron (Schildknecht) in Margaret Mace Hospital in North Wildwood, NJ. As a boy he lived in Upper Darby, PA and moved to Avalon, NJ at the age of 11. Bob attended Middle Township High School and Rutgers University. He earned a PhD in Physics from Temple University. During his teaching career, he taught at Rutgers University, Stockton State College, and Wildwood High School. Bob served in the US Army from 1954 – 1956. With the skills he learned in the Army, he started Bob and Jon's TV with his brother Jon. It was located in Avalon on the corner of 25th and Dune Drive for over 30 years. Bob married his love, Muriel, on November 21, 1964. They were happily married for 56 years. They lived in Avalon until 2004 and would spend winters in Cape Coral, FL. Bob loved music and played trombone in the John Walter Cape Community Band for many years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cape May Court House. He served as a Deacon, was a member of the church choir and praise team, and taught Sunday School. Bob was an adventurer and loved the ocean. Every day after the store would close, he would spend time on the beach with his family. He visited every US State and Canadian Providence. Bob was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather.
